How to Get Into the Holiday Spirit in Fort Worth

We’re embracing the arrival of December and all of the holiday ambiance and celebration that comes with it. Living at Elan River District places you in the heart of Fort Worth, where festive activities are aplenty. We found a few things for you to do near home that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit and make your month one to remember.

Enjoy Winter Cocktails & Brews Around Fort Worth

Nothing keeps you warm like a tasty brew or delightful cocktail shared with the ones you love. Luckily, your home is close to some great places to sip this season. In the mood for a craft beer? Rahr & Sons’ have a Winter Warmer brew that is rightfully known as our region’s go-to brew for the Fall season. The chocolate and dark berry notes are perfect to carry you through December. If cocktails are more your thing, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth has a season list of cocktails fit for Winter enjoyment. Our favorite? The Equinox with spiced rum, house-made chai cream and coffee.

Ice Skating at Panther Island Pavillion

‘Tis the season to strap on your skates and hit the ice. Whether you’re an avid skater who can hold your own or keep to the walls whenever you attend, Panther Island Ice is a must when it comes to Winter time in Fort Worth. You can enjoy the activity through January 14th and possibly improve your skills in the meantime. They’re open 7 days a week so you can have date night, any night or even close out Christmas in the rink.

Drive Through Lights at Texas Motor Speedway

Since it is a bit chillier now that the month of December has arrived, it’s nice to enjoy Christmas lights from the comfort of your heating seats in the car. Forget just driving through the neighborhoods near you and really see a spectacle. The Texas Motor Speedway offers the largest drive through light speedway in Texas and you have to see it to believe it. You’ll be surrounded by millions of sparkling lights that are sure to excite everyone from adults to the little ones. After you drive through, you can all hit up Santa’s Village for festive fun.

Happy Holidays.
